in Poems, Prism of Life

It’s been a while,
Since seen the rising sun,
It’s been a while,
Since talked to mom,
It’s been a while,
Since chewed some gum,
It’s been a while,
Since had a great run.

It’s been a while,
Since had an eye contact,
It’s been a while,
Since my heart got ransacked,
It’s been a while,
Since felt being listened,
It’s been a while,
Since lived without ambition.

It’s been a while,
Since had a great talk,
It’s been a while,
Since seen someone walk the talk,
It’s been a while,
Since had a thought beyond self,
It’s been a while,
Since seen someone extend oneself.

It’s been a while,
Since listened to my heart,
It’s been a while,
Since ordering a la carte,
It’s been a while,
Since saw one play,
It’s been a while,
Since got excited for Monday.

It’s been a while,
Since had a great scream,
It’s been a while,
Since had a daydream,
It’s been a while,
Since had a nightmare beyond spreadsheets,
It’s been a while,
Since my heart skipped a beat.

It’s been a while,
Since had a day without worry,
It’s been a while,
Since got reminded of memento-mori
It’s been a while,
Since lost track of my time,
It’s been a while,
Since had a refreshing downtime.

  1. One may say this piece as a poem of nostalgia but it is more than that for me.
In today’s busy life, we are loosing what we used to crave for. We are getting away from our root. What kind of development and growth is it? We run after material gains and leave behind things which make us true human beings. With just material advancement and lack of humanly emotions we will become a kind of humanoid.
Nice piece indeed. Words are from core of a common man.
